Custom Features

  • 10-year limited home warranty. Although we strive for perfection, we built our reputation on our service after the sale.
  • 2″ x 6″ studs in plumbed walls. Copper or PEX high pressure lines.
  • Energy-saving water heaters. Polyethylene vapor barriers.
  • Hand-selected stud and joist lumber. Trusses are delivered to job site when needed, not left on ground to warp.
  • Energy-designed engineered trusses to allow for full R-38 insulation value over outer walls and still maintain proper attic ventilation. Some builders use conventional trusses, maximum of R-19 insulation, no ventilation.
  • Architectural 30-year shingles.
  • Chimney flashing.
  • Aluminum vented soffit. Rust-proof drip cap under shingle edge.
  • 5/8″ plywood roof or OSB roof decking with plywood clips. Some builders use 1/2″ decking, even wafer board, with no plywood clips.
  • Service walkway in attic space with light and switch. Plywood over garage for storage. * Water-proofing on foundation where needed. Relief drain in foundation.
  • 3/4″ tongue and grooved Advantec flooring with a 50-year warranty, glued and nailed to engineered TJI silent floor joists. Some builders eliminate blocking and use 2″ x 8″ floor joists.
  • Engineered beams as required. For example, across top of garage door or other wide expanses. Some builders use job built beams which have less structural strength.
  • Curtain rod blocking at windows and patio doors a full 16″ from each side. Some builders eliminate blocking, which makes installation of curtains impossible.
  • Cabinet blocking as required.
  • 2″ x 6″ studs on all exterior walls. Sill sealer. Some builders use black board, no sill sealer.
  • Floor tile laid with hardi-backer where needed.
  • Continuous Ridgevent gable vents. Some builders use less attractive, less efficient metal vents.
  • Water-resistant sheet rock and soundproofing in baths.
  • All garages are insulated, including doors.
  • Roll-out trays in kitchen.
  • Pull-out shelves in kitchen.
  • Job superintendent that personally oversees the construction of your home.
  • Weathershield Low-E Double Pane Wood Windows with Argon Gas. Some builders use builder grade vinyl windows.
  • 5″ gutters with leaf guard. Some builders use 4″ gutters with no leaf guard.
